Donating to our Parish
Right now, life is difficult for us all. Costs are rising at an alarming rate, and money is scarce. After a long period during lockdown with very little income, churches throughout the country are having to cope with the additional costs, and it can no longer be taken for granted that our churches will be able to stay open.
We would ask that you try and find a few pounds every week to give to your church: even a small donation makes a big difference, and helps us to cover costs. Please also read the section below about gift aid - a scheme through which we can increase the value of your offering.
The Diocese of Leeds is a Charity registered in England and Wales as Leeds Diocesan Trust, registration number 249404. Full details at the foot of this page.
Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a Government scheme which allows us to benefit from an additional 25% of your donation, without any cost to yourself. This means that if you donate £10.00 (for example) to the parish, we can claim an additional £2.50 from the government.
The only stipulation is that you are a UK tax payer.
All gifts are eligible under the scheme - for example your Sunday offerings, or one-off donations. All you need to do is to complete a simple form, and let us know of the donations that you will be making. We'll do the rest.
The form is available for download here. Please complete it and hand it in when you are next at Mass.

Our Lady's Lamp
We are now inviting parishioners to sponsor the perpetual lamp in the sanctuary, or Our Lady's lamp and dedicate that light to your intentions. This has proved very popular, and we would suggest a minimum donation of £10 to cover the cost of the candle. Donations can be put in one of the envelopes that you will find at the back of the church.
Mass intentions can be offered in the same way, and again, and the Bishops of England & Wales recommend a minimum offering of £10 for those that can afford it. Please make your request at least six months prior to the required date, and write your request in capital letters.
